Why this web site?
Students of Italian at the University of Colorado who study in
Italy most often study in Florence. We offer viewers an interactive "Gita a
Firenze," an excursion to Florence. The interactive lessons will help you
learn about Florence, improve listening comprehension, build vocabulary,
and practice writing skills.

The lessons - what you will do:
You will watch a short video or listen to a spoken exchange. View or
listen as often as you wish or need to in order to do the excercises.
Excercises can be multiple choice, fill-in, completions, or even a
cross-word puzzle. Use for hints or to check your score. At the end of the lessons,
there is a written assignment which students will turn in to instructors.
Remember to read all instructions carefully.

A few hints:
Read all the directions before beginning the lessons or activities.
Use the scroll bar to move up and down the pages and the "back" button where
indicated.
The links to the vocabulary open a new browser window. Simply move
the window to work on your lesson again. This allows you to view the vocabulary
without loosing your work on the lessons.
The audio and video controls are standard controls and will
work with either Quick Time or Windows Media Player. Press the button to play and the button to
pause. You can move the status indicator in the controls to start at
whatever point you would like. Just click the sliding object and drag it
to the point where you would like to start. To the left is a diagram of
the Quick Time controls:
