Foreign Language Technology Program (FLTP)
The Foreign Language Technology Program (FLTP) is a non-degree program offering training in the theories and practices of instructional technologies. The workshops are open to all CU-Boulder graduate students, faculty, and instructors of the foreign languages. ALTEC offers an average of eight workshops per semester and an annual portfolio intensive.
The curriculum of the FLTP places an equal emphasis on the acquisition of instructional design principles and the development of technical skills. The language technology integration workshops address areas of foreign language instruction including literature and culture, and offer training in the most relevant technologies and design principles. Upon completion of the required workshops, students develop an online portfolio with assistance from the ALTEC team.
We maintain a calendar with all the classes available during the next three months.
The workshops usually take place in the ALTEC Labs (Hellems 145, 152). In order to accommodate the busy schedules of the graduate students and instructors, each workshop is offered in two different timeslots within the same week. Participants may either sign-up online or call ALTEC (2-8224).
The Graduate Teacher Program (GTP) and FLTP are collaborating with a credit sharing agreement. Up to three FLTP workshops may be counted toward completion of the Graduate Teacher Program requirements. If you are considering the FLTP, take a few of our workshops to help you decide, and rest assured the first few may count toward either program. A workshop may not be double-counted toward completion of both programs
