COMMON EDITING COMMANDS VOLUME CONTROL INSERT SILENCE REPEAT MONO AND STEREO SHIFTING MERGING MONO AND STEREOYou are likely already aware that when a sound track is stereo, the sound coming out of the left and the right speakers is different. Mono just means that the sound coming out of the both the speakers is the same. This distinction is important for us because mono sound will work just fine for conveying voice and saves space and download time compared to stereo recordings. Below is an image of a stereo track. On the left side in the image, you can check that the two separate sound volume graphs are part of one track.
Again in the image below, you can see the two sound volume graphs but they are no longer part of the same track, instead they are two separate tracks. There are two mono tracks where there used to be one stereo track. In order to separate tracks like this, you must click on the track name (1 Audio Track) and select split stereo track. If you want to turn two mono tracks into a stereo track select both tracks and then click on one of their names. Finally from the drop down list, select Make Stereo.
