COMMON EDITING COMMANDS VOLUME CONTROL INSERT SILENCE REPEAT MONO AND STEREO SHIFTING MERGING SHIFTINGShifting a track allows you to move a track to the right or left, and thus change when a particular sound will occur. This might be helpful when doing some sort of advanced editing such as when you intend to merge a couple of tracks to create a new track or when you want to make a stereo track. To show the shift in a track we will start with two tracks. To move a track, click on the double right-left arrow in the top left hand corner of the Audacity window. Then click and drag anywhere within the sounds waveform graph. As you drag, the sound graph will shift into a new position.
