COMMON EDITING COMMANDS VOLUME CONTROL INSERT SILENCE REPEAT MONO AND STEREO SHIFTING MERGING INSERT SILENCEIt is simple to add an appropriate amount of silence between your pronounciations on an exercise tape. Although adding silence between words on an exercise track is the most likely use for this feature, you may find other uses as well. Silence can be added in any length desired. You can specify both the length and start of the silence by making a selection. The start of your selection is where the silence will be inserted. The length of the silence will be equal to the length of the selection. Don't be concerned about what is actually selected. It will not be modified by the insert silence command.
To actually insert the silence, go to Generate -> Silence. Notice in the image below how the track has been lengthened and nothing has been overwritten.
