Your mission, if you want to get FLTP credit for this workshop, is to:

(This is a compilation of all the mini-assignments also linked after each module. You have a choice whether you want to send them in separately or all at once.)

  1. Mini-assignment 1: Recording (You will do this mini-assignment in Audacity)
  2. Before you get started, print the following page and keep it handy as you complete the exercises.
    1. Minimize this window and open Audacity: Start> Program> Audacity
    2. Record a sound file
    3. Listen to it to make sure it worked.
    4. Save it to the desktop:
      1. File> Save Project
      2. Browse to the Audacity desktop folder
      3. Click Ok when the "Warning" window opens
      4. Name the file your_name_one (exp: Smith_one)
    5. Email assignment to: Edwige.Simon@colorado.edu
    6. Subject: FLTP Credit- Audacity: Recording
  3. Mini-assignment 2: Editing(You will do this mini-assignment in Audacity)
    1. Download this file to your desktop (right-click and choose Save Link As or Save Target As)
    2. Open it with Audacity: (File > Open)
    3. Listen to the file. You will notice that the questions and the answers are jumbled. Match the questions and the answers
    4. Remove (delete) the question with no answer.
    5. Save the file.
    6. Email assignment to: Edwige.Simon@colorado.edu
    7. Subject: FLTP Credit- Audacity:Editing
  4. Mini-assignment 3: Tempo (You will do this mini-assignment in Audacity)
    1. Download this file to your desktop (right-click and choose Save Link As or Save Target As).
    2. Listen to it.
    3. Slow down the tempo of the file.
    4. Listen to it again to make sure that the pace is now appropriate.
    5. Save the file to your desktop.
    6. Email assignment to: Edwige.Simon@colorado.edu
    7. Subject: FLTP Credit- Audacity: Tempo
  5. Mini-assignment 4: Exporting : (You will do this mini-assignment in Audacity)
    1. Record a sound file in Audacity (introduce yourself)
    2. Export it as an MP3 file to your desktop
    3. Email assignment to: Edwige.Simon@colorado.edu
    4. Subject: FLTP Credit- Audacity:Exporting

  6. Fill out the Audacity Survey.

  7. Email assignment to: Edwige.Simon@colorado.edu
