Recording a Sound File
(You will do this mini-assignment in Audacity)

For this workshop, you will be quizzed on your material retention by actually practicing what you've learned in four mini-assignments. You must submit each of the four mini-activities to obtain credit for this workshop.

You can choose to complete and submit the mini-assignments at the end of each module, or submit them all at once at the end of the workshop. All four mini-assignments are found on the Assignment page.

Before you get started, print the following page and keep it handy as you complete the exercises.

Read and follow the instructions carefully:

  1. Minimize this window and open Audacity: Start> Program> Audacity
  2. Record a sound file
  3. Listen to it to make sure it worked.
  4. Save it to the desktop:
    1. File> Save Project
    2. Browse to the Audacity desktop folder
    3. Click Ok when the "Warning" window opens
    4. Name the file your_name_one (exp: Smith_one)
  5. Email assignment to: Edwige.Simon@colorado.edu
  6. Subject: FLTP Credit- Audacity: Recording
